Formula & Methodology

This is an independent public-domain approximation, not the official WW SmartPoints formula:

Estimated Points = (Calories ÷ 33.3) + (Sugar ÷ 9) + (Saturated Fat ÷ 3.6) − (Protein ÷ 10)

Result is rounded and floored at zero.

Worked example: A snack bar with 180 calories, 8g protein, 12g sugar, and 2g saturated fat:

(180 ÷ 33.3) + (12 ÷ 9) + (2 ÷ 3.6) − (8 ÷ 10)
= 5.41 + 1.33 + 0.56 − 0.8 ≈ 6 points
