Formula & Methodology

The calculator uses the standard average-depth rectangular volume formula used throughout the pool industry:

Step 1 — Compute average depth:

> Average Depth (ft) = (Shallow Depth + Deep Depth) ÷ 2

Step 2 — Compute volume in cubic feet:

> Volume (ft³) = Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Average Depth (ft)

Step 3 — Convert to gallons:
