Bitrate units convert directly via decimal SI multipliers (1 Kbps = 1,000 bps, 1 Mbps = 1,000,000 bps), while Data Usage units first convert the time period to seconds and the byte count to bits before reaching the same base: Result = Input × (Factor_from ÷ Factor_to) For GB per Hour: 1 GB/hour = (1,000,000,000 bytes × 8 bits) ÷ 3,600 seconds ≈ 2,222,222.22 bps. Worked example: Converting 50 Mbps to GB per Hour, 50 Mbps = 50,000,000 bps. Dividing by the GB/hour factor: 50,000,000 ÷ 2,222,222.22 ≈ 22.5 GB per hour. So a constant 50 Mbps connection can transfer roughly 22.5 GB of data in one hour if fully utilised.
